The purpose of this Technical Guide is to provide guidance on how the architect can use the TOGAF standard – now in Version 9 – to develop, manage, and govern Service-Oriented Architectures (SOA) or any architecture where SOA is part of the scope.

* Required Fields

This Guide should facilitate the common understanding of the process for the development of SOAs and greatly improve alignment between the business and information technology communities. Utilization of the process, meta-model, references, and other TOGAF facilities will lead to the further adoption of SOA as an architectural style.

Note that this document was updated in November 2011 to apply an Erratum. Figure 15 in Appendix A is replaced with the correct content.
