Users of process control automation systems need a next-generation interoperable and secure process control automation framework. Such a framework (a standard of standards) would provide customers of process control systems with an open architecture upon which future innovation could occur, while preserving investments made in current process control automation systems.
Process control vendors will benefit from working collaboratively to develop a vendor-neutral standard that results in increased market opportunities. They will also position themselves as a leader in DCS automation standards development.
Thanks to ExxonMobil’s leadership a number of Process Control Industry days have taken place. This has resulted in a number of end-user and supplier organizations formally joining The Open Group organized Open Process Automation™ Forum.
The webinar agenda will include:
- Current Forum status and membership update
- Problem statement and work to date – ExxonMobil Customer Perspective
- Common industry issues with process automation
- Schedule of upcoming events and how to participate
There will be an opportunity for Q&A at the end, taking audience questions.
