It is most of the time necessary, at the beginning of an Enterprise Architecture cycle, to know what the existing IS is. Where do we start from? Frequently, the knowledge of the existing IS is not accurate. It has been iteratively defined, implemented, and hosted by many participants and subcontractors, and rarely properly documented.
Getting the current picture may be a very time-consuming task, for a result that may not be accurate.
This is the reason why there is a great benefit in using automated approaches, which X-rays the running IS, and reports a blueprint of the architecture.
Two major use-cases exist:
- The emergency Enterprise Architecture effort, and
- The continuous maintenance of the Technical and Application architectures
Solving these use-cases by an automated solution provides a quick and strong ROI, which reinforces the benefits of Enterprise Architecture. It provides agility, accurateness, and completeness to Enterprise Architecture modeling, thus enabling a consistent repository for the Architecture Continuum.
This webinar will describe this approach, and how it has been implemented. A case study will be described for an Enterprise that needed a fast solution after a merger between two companies, showing very important benefits.
